In 2019, The Swiss Welding Association opens the SWI Inc. in Pennsylvania to offer quality inspection services in the US to Swiss companies.
The Swiss Welding Association (SVSXASS) is an accredited association. It is the leading Swiss competence center for welding. It offers services as a project partner in research and development. In Switzerland, the Association is active in training, certification, destructive and non-destructive testing as well as inspection and monitoring activities, consulting in welding related products. It works as a partner with industries in railway product, hydro-electric power, nuclear power, bridges, metallic building, and piping.

Quality and Inspections
For us, the quality of a welded part is the set of characteristics and properties that make the assembly fully compliant with the expectations of the designer.
To ensure the quality of these welded structures, we are called upon to get involved throughout the manufacture of the welded assembly.
● We offer advice on design to facilitate welding work and ensure proper control of the welded joint.
● We validate the production of the raw material.
● We supervise the qualification of welders and welding procedures.
● We carry out checks before, during and after the welding operations to ensure that all essentials ensuring the quality of a weld are present.
● We carry out testing during non-destructive and dimensional inspection of welded parts.
● We conduct inspections during the application of the surface treatment and its thickness measurement.

Expediting
For us, the on-time delivery of a conforming part is of the utmost importance. To safeguard compliance and avoid delay, our expediting service carries out on site evaluation of manufacturing production and capacity.
We actively keep an eye on the manufacturing planning to secure project milestones. We assess manufacturing production plans and manufacturer capacity. We verify that manufacturing operations are performed on time and identify potential issues to avoid costly delay.
● We provide project support and manufacturing monitoring along the complete supply chain.
● We evaluate the production potential of manufacturers before production starts.
● We report on the actual project status, inform you of eventual delay or on time saving options.
● We monitor production and support projects on-site, to make sure that manufacturing operations are conducted on schedule and to guarantee compliance.
Our service
Supplier Audit
For us, making sure that a supplier uses the appropriate industry regulations, the correct manufacturing process and follow the proper health and safety directives is essential.
We, as a third-party neutral inspection company, perform audit to verify the supplier’s compliance to specific standards and client’s requirements on behalf of the buyer.
The supplier audit involves examining the supplier’s business practices and product quality in adequation with the buyer’s need.
● We work with our client to define the Audit Questionnaire during a pre-audit Meeting. We define the audit’s objectives before the audit to make sure that we meet our client’s needs.
● We audit the supplier using the supplier auditing checklist.
● Once the audit is completed, we will create a report based on the audit’s findings. The report includes assessing whether the supplier conforms to specific requirements and feedback for improvements.

Certifications
In collaboration with SVSXASS, SWI Inc. can offer ISO certification to your company according to the following standards:
● EN 15085 Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components.
● EN 1090 Certification of Steel Structures.
● ISO 3834 Quality requirement for fusion welding.
We provide experiences auditor, we have provided services in welding fields for more than a century, our close link to production allows us to offer appropriate optimization suggestions.
In collaboration with SVSXASS, SWI Inc. can offer ISO certification to your welders and operators according to the following standards:
- ISO 9606 Qualification testing of welders.
Welder certificates delivered by SVSXASS according to ISO-9606 are valid for three years and need to be renewed every 6 months.
- ISO 14732 Qualification testing of weld operators.
Weld operator certificates delivered by SVSXASS according to ISO-14732 are valid for two years and need to be renewed every 6 months.
